At Hills Adventist College, we use an online Continuous Reporting model where, throughout the teaching and learning cycle, teachers provide timely and targeted feedback to students regarding their learning progress in each subject. This report provides a summary of achievement, more details regarding assessment results and student feedback can be found on SEQTA Learn & Engage. The following is an explanation of how to read and interpret the information on the transcript.
The subject grade shows the achievement of an individual student across the formal assessment process used at the College. The scale used is as follows.
Please note, Year 5 and 6 marks follow the Maths/Science achievement scale for all subjects.
Culture of Excellence is the Hills Adventist College way of fostering student growth. It reflects how your child engages with learning tasks and provides a way for teachers and students to receive feedback on the student's progress. This helps identify any gaps in understanding and areas needing improvement throughout the learning period. The focus is on skill development, application of knowledge, and effective use of feedback. This information is recorded in the Culture of Excellence column and the Engagement in Learning column on the transcript and is based on the following criteria:
To report on how each student is interacting at the College overall, not just in specific classes students are evaluated on a fourpoint scale: Consistently, Usually, Sometimes, Rarely.
Students with special education needs can access the syllabus outcomes and content in a range of ways, including studying a Life Skills syllabus. For these students, adjustments have been made to the teaching, learning and assessment activities to enable them to access syllabus outcomes and content and demonstrate achievement of outcomes. A three-point scale is used to indicate the progress of a student through the Life Skills syllabus.
