FROM THE Director of Teaching & Learning
Hills Adventist College places great importance on a holistic perspective in a child’s education. We incorporate instructional models such as Project Based Learning, Explicit Direct Instruction and developing Habits of Mind and critical thinking skills into our learning programmes. We believe that it is important to provide differentiation for the diverse learning needs in our College community, and are committed to providing a high quality education incorporating our school values.
We draw strength from 47 local Adventist schools and our massive global family of over 8,500 schools.
We actively engage in building community with students and their families.
Our teachers not only care about their students but truly serve them with their best interests at heart.
We provide opportunities for students to serve others, believing that an outward focus is good for mind, body and soul.
We take the time to get to know and understand our students, fostering in them a sense of belonging and involvement.
As a Christian school, we believe that a life centred in Jesus brings hope both now and for the future.
We instill students with confidence, a knowledge of themselves and the tools they need for effective communication and problem solving.
We see the world through a Christian lens and emphasise a values based, wholistic education to give students the tools they need to succeed in life.
We encourage good physical and mental health through a co-ordinated well being program designed to enhance student potential.
We teach our students time tested, biblical values that shape hearts and minds, preparing them for all of life’s challenges.
