Laying firm foundations
We provide students with the skills they need to thrive in their schooling years, with a particular focus on numeracy and literacy, using evidence-based, effective programs to enable students to succeed in the school environment. Our students also benefit from our emphasis on wellbeing, with specialist programs currently being rolled out to all year levels to encourage and empower students to develop resilience, compassion, and nurture for their peers and wider community.

A specialist Learning Support team are also employed to help those who have difficulties with academic subjects. This assistance is available individually or in small groups in a specialised support room, or within the classroom environment, as is appropriate for the needs of each child.
Students are able to extend themselves through Catalyst Activities such as Number Crunch, Science and Art Competitions. Other activities include Inter-school Spelling Bee, Academic Olympics and ICAS [Educational Assessments Australia] Competitions.
Wellbeing
Here at Hills Adventist College we are committed to providing quality and inclusive learning opportunities for all our students, placing a high level of importance on nurturing student wellbeing and positive mental health.
So how do we do this? We have a strong team of experienced Teachers, Chaplains and Counsellors who take the time to get to know and understand each student. They provide mentorship, guidance and foster in students a sense of belonging and involvement which helps them develop a strong sense of positive wellbeing.
A wellbeing focused program similar to the Invictus program we offer in the Middle and Senior Schools, rolled out since the beginning of 2021. We look forward to equipping our younger students with the care and resilience they need in an ever changing world.
Extra
Curricular
Students have the opportunity to participate in various extra-curricular and after school activities at the College.
There is an additional cost involved in this and information is sent to families at the commencement of each year.
Music Tuition is available for students who would like to learn an instrument. This is facilitated by private tutors that attend the College during the day, to save you transporting your child to music tuition after school. Costs and availability can be discussed with the tutor directly.
After school activities such as soccer and tennis are also available during school terms.
