Hills Adventist College has achieved substantially above-average gains in reading and numeracy according to the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA). Gains are measured against the national average, against schools with similar students and against students with similar starting scores.
Principal Dr. Malcolm Coulson credits the above average growth in student learning to a range of educational programs that target explicit teaching in literacy and numeracy, targeted early intervention and differentiated learning to ensure students are progressing at a pace that is suited to their needs.
“Our role as educators is to ensure that each and every student develops to their full potential. We are pleased to be recognised for achieving results that are beyond the expected. It is testament to the dedication of the teachers and staff of the school in providing a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive” Dr. Coulson noted.
Hills Adventist College is located in the rapidly growing North West of Sydney and has two campuses. Across its Castle Hill and Kellyville Campuses it offers an Early Learning Centre as well as a Kindergarten to Year 12 College.
